What is the Number One (#1) Way to Invest in Real Estate?
Recently I had this kid, and when I say kid I do mean kid, is only 21, ask me a question that I felt was not only profound for such a young man have a question regarding, but also really typifies what I see each and every day out in the everyday world.
He asked me on Face Book, “Wayne what is the number one way to invest in real estate.” His question was very sincere, as he said to me that the reason he was asking this question was because he was just starting out in real estate and he didn’t want to invest or pursue the wrong things. Well first of all I thought to myself, “Wow to be this kid at 21 and have the interest in real estate when just starting out in life,” and what grand opportunities were before him, and the potential money he could make over his lifetime by starting early. What an opportunity!
Then I started to think, “What is the answer I should give him?”
Should I tell him flips, lease options, short sales, probates, foreclosures, pre-foreclosures, back tax purchases; the list could go on and on. And for every single one of those techniques you’ll find 10 or 15 different people throughout America who will swear that they made 1 million, 2 million, or untold billions, on that particular technique. Personally I’ve made money in so many different ways and real estate, that there are too many of them to mention. So I sent him an e-mail saying that really there was no one number one way to invest in real estate. What he was looking for was impossible. There is no ONE thing that will guarantee success.
However I was wrong!
There is a number one way to invest in real estate that is a sure fired way to success. It’s the only way, as a matter of fact, that will guarantee you that no matter what, you will make not only money, but really good money, in real estate. It’s the exact same formula with business. As a matter of fact it’s the exact same way with almost anything that you can think of that anyone wants way to be successful at. Weight loss, getting a degree, stopping smoking, whatever.
I’ve done hundreds perhaps even thousands of hours of research on this particular subject throughout the years. I’ve seen many people fail, and I see many people succeed by this one area of investing in real estate. And of course even though I am not a big fan of the “guru’s” who like to say that they went from rags to riches by using their particular method, I can say that I have seen real estate investors go from the doghouse to the penthouse by using this one tried and true method over and over and over again.
So are you ready for it? Are you ready for the answer to the young man’s question? Do you really think that you’re prepared to hear this answer? Are you sitting down?
The number one way to invest in real estate is one word and one word only:
ACTION!
Action. It’s that simple, and yet that complex.
