Wayne’s Bio

Wayne Turner is a nationally active motivational speaker, educator, licensed loan officer and licensed Realtor.

He heads The Wayne Turner Group, a consulting service committed to providing financial fitness education and real estate investment instruction to people from all walks of life.  In addition to consulting and mentoring services, The Wayne Turner Group offers small business credit lines, residential and commercial mortgages, and a variety of other financial and real estate services.

Wayne is actively involved in providing financial education outreach via presentations on a number of timely topics.  He believes that it is possible for all to live more financial secure lives, regardless of surrounding economic conditions and has delivered his rock-solid messages to a diverse group of audiences.

While other consultants strive to become real estate or personal finance “gurus”, Wayne wants to be “the person you see when you’re done with the gurus.”  He specializes in providing personal, hands-on mentoring and assistance to help others implement smart real estate investment strategies.  He considers himself a catalyst capable of inspiring real action on the part of new investors.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Wayne’s experience in finance started when he took a job at a small Michigan bank immediately following high school.  He used his seemingly innate financial skills to place himself on the fast track to becoming a branch manager.  Finding the banking environment too restrictive, he left the bank despite consistently outperforming expectations.

Following a move to recession-wracked Buffalo, NY in the 1990s, Wayne flexed his entrepreneurial muscle by building a successful landscaping company from the ground up.

From there, he took a position with what was then the second largest collection company in the world.  He combined his dedication to developing a deep understanding of the business with his financing background to become one of the firm’s top producers.

Wayne attributes his success in the field to his ability to show people how they could successfully utilize the equity in their homes to resolve problematic outstanding accounts while lowering their monthly debt load.

In the process of helping others manage their debts, he found himself spending a great deal of time working with and instructing loan officers about how to complete these deals.

That experience with loan officers led Wayne directly into the mortgage industry.  Wayne refused to be “just another loan officer.”  He was, and remains, committed to knowing and understanding loan programs better than their underwriters.  That allowed him to thrive in a difficult marketplace that claimed the careers of many in the industry.

Wayne rejects the common practice of “throwing the loan to the wall and seeing what sticks.” He believes in maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the industry’s rules and regulations.  Wayne found that many people in the business are working from very limited knowledge bases and lack the kind of work ethic that would allow them to better serve others.  He prides himself on going farther and deeper than others to create the very best deals possible.

Wayne entered the world of coaching and mentoring after real estate educators, who were looking for someone to whom they could introduce their students, approached him.

They wanted to refer their students to someone who could really help them to build successful real estate businesses.  They needed to find someone who could secure the financing necessary to get deals done.  Unfortunately, people were bailing out of the industry at a record pace and those who remained active were often untrustworthy, unskilled or inexperienced.

Knowing Wayne and his reputation, those real estate teachers asked him if he’d be willing to help new investors to build their businesses correctly so that they could secure th necessary financing. Wayne was more than happy to help.

He soon discovered that there many people who desperately want to be real estate investors, to start a business or to simply improve their overall financial well-being fail to take action.  Their fears and lack of education hold them back.  Life’s everyday grind paralyzes them.  People spend small fortunes on real estate training and education, but fail to put it to use.

Wayne made it his personal goal to motivate people to take action and to educate them so that they can experience profits even during harsh economic times.

RUSTLER JEANS AND THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN

Wayne Turner isn’t just a talented motivator, mentor and educator.  He’s a unique individual with a fascinating personal story that influences his outlook on life and his business.

Wayne loves to tell the story of the impetus behind his first entrepreneurial venture.  When his budget-conscious dad decided that Wayne’s school clothes should consist of “two for five dollars” pairs of inexpensive Rustler jeans (one pair  of which were an ugly rust color that he jokingly claims was later banned in many states), Wayne decided that he’d raise the funds to make the next year’s back-to-school shopping a more stylish affair.

As a teenager, he successfully marketed himself as a handyman and even brought some of his friends into the business.  He never wore those ugly jeans to school again!  That taste of entrepreneurial success obviously stayed with Wayne for years to come.

Wayne has also successfully wrestled with an issue that confounds many.  Always a tall, “big” man, Wayne ballooned to a top weight of over 650 pounds until he overcame his personal issues and strong fears regarding surgical procedures.

Wayne underwent a Duodenal Switch Bariatric treatment, learned to change his lifestyle habits, and eventually found himself dropping to almost one-third of his highest weight.

This experience gave him a firsthand experience with accomplishing the seemingly impossible and with confronting the crippling forces of fear lessons he carries within him in his outreach and mentoring.

Wayne is a compulsive reader, constantly adding to his extensive industry knowledge base and studying self-improvement concepts.

In addition to maintaining a strong commitment to professional excellence, he makes his family a priority.  His mother serves as his office manager and his father, a recent General Motors retiree, is now working full-time with The Wayne Turner Group.  He traces his belief in the importance of perseverance to his upbringing.  He credits his parents with instilling strong values in the family’s children and with teaching him the value of maintaining a positive outlook and a strong sense of humor.
